The Rolex GMT-Master is an iconic timepiece within the Rolex lineup. Since its introduction, Rolex has graced us with numerous iterations in a variety of striking color combinations. The Rolex GMT-Master, particularly the 'Rolex Pepsi', holds an iconic status in watch collections worldwide due to its distinctive red-and-blue bezel.
The 'Pepsi' nickname comes from the bezel's resemblance to the colors of the Pepsi logo, making it a sought-after piece among collectors and enthusiasts alike. This color scheme was originally designed to help pilots differentiate between day and night hours across time zones. Over time, the bezel transitioned from aluminum to Cerachrom ceramic, enhancing durability and color vibrancy.
The Pepsi is not one specific watch, but a family of GMT-Master and GMT-Master II references spanning more than seven decades:
- Ref. 6542: the original GMT-Master, introduced in 1955 with a Bakelite bezel.
- Ref. 1675: the long-running vintage classic that established the familiar Pepsi look.
- Ref. 16750: a transitional model with vintage styling and a practical quickset date.
- Ref. 16700: the final reference produced under the original GMT-Master name.
- Ref. 16710: a neo-vintage favourite with an aluminium bezel and independently adjustable local hour hand.
- Ref. 116719BLRO: the first ceramic Pepsi, released exclusively in white gold.
- Ref. 126710BLRO (Steel) and ref. 126719BLRO (White gold) generations. Both versions discontinued since Watches & Wonders in April 2026.

Current Rolex Pepsi prices can vary significantly, especially since the watch got discontinued in 2026. On the grey market, the stainless steel Ref. 126710BLRO can fetch between €20.000 and €23.000, reflecting its demand and collectability in the secondary market. Finding a new and unworn model may cost a bit more than premium pre-owned versions, but the investment often pays off given their scarcity and continued desirability.
