GMT-Master II Rolex Rootbeer

Back in the day, Rolex released the Rootbeer GMT-Master. Rootbeer was the unofficial nickname because of the colorways on the original Rootbeer: a brown dial, two-tone yellow gold Jubilee-bracelet and a two-tone bezel. Prices of these vintage pieces can be found on Wristler for around €10.000 to €14.000 for a well-maintained piece. Depending on the patina on these vintage GMT-Masters, prices have gone up since you had to pay around €7.000 for a piece 5 years ago.

With the release of the new GMT-Master II in two-tone stainless-steel and Everose rose gold, the new ‘Rootbeer’ was born. This watch features a black dial, a ceramic bezel and a two-tone Oyster-bracelet in rose gold with stainless-steel. You could also opt for the fully rose gold GMT-Master II, which is a lot more expensive compared to the Rootbeer. The two-tone Rootbeer will cost you at least €19.000 while the fully rose gold GMT-Master II costs twice the money, around €35.000 up to €40.000.
