The Gold and Steel Rolex GMT-Master II
The Rolex GMT-Master II is the perfect tool-watch in the Rolex catalog to wear on a daily basis, especially the ones with gold and stainless-steel. These GMT-Master II watches from Rolex come in two-tone ever since 2014, with the release of the reference 116713LN. Later on, the 126711CHNR followed the footsteps of the earlier model.
The first two-tone GMT-Master II was the reference 116713LN with the black ceramic bezel with golden numerals, black dial and the two-tone ‘Rolesor’ yellow gold and stainless-steel Oyster-bracelet. The case is made of stainless-steel and measures 40mm.
The two-tone predecessor of the GMT-Master II is the 126711CHNR, being the first ever rose gold two-tone GMT-Master II from Rolex. This model looks like the original ‘Rootbeer’ which was made of solid gold with a black dial. The modern version of the ‘Rootbeer’ is the two-tone ‘Everose’ rose gold and stainless-steel piece, with rose gold on the bracelet and bezel.
When it comes to prices, the GMT-Master II from 2014 with yellow gold will set you back around €14.000 in a pre-owned state, while the newer version with rose gold is a bit more expensive, starting at roughly €19.000 for a pre-owned piece up to €25.000 for a never worn watch.
