Blue face on Rolex watches

Rolex produces their watches in numerous colors when it comes to the dial. You can even opt for Roman numerals, Arabic numerals or diamonds as hour markers. The Rolex watches with a blue dial are very popular and come in different types of blue, depending on the model, the year of production and the so-called ‘fade’ from wearing the watch and the sun on the dial, making it look extra vintage.

Blue dial Rolex Oyster Perpetual

The https://wristler.eu/watches/rolex/oyster-perpetual/blue-dial is one of the base models in the Rolex catalog, being one of the cheapest available. Rolex offers this watch currently in 31, 36 and 40mm, but in the earlier days you could also opt for the 34mm Oyster Perpetual. The blue dial on the vintage and pre-owned Rolex Oyster Perpetual watches is different compared to the more modern blue dial.

This is because the blue from the vintage pieces are sunburst and look a bit more bright, compared to the darker blue on the modern timepieces. You can find a blue dial Oyster Perpetual for around €4.000 for the vintage piece, up to €12.000 for a never worn 40mm Oyster Perpetual with a blue dial.

Rolex Datejust with a blue face

The Rolex Datejust is known for the fluted bezel, jubilee-bracelet and the different colors on the dial. The blue dial Rolex Datejust is available in 36mm or 41mm. The 36mm case size can be found as a vintage Datejust or a modern piece.

The vintage blue dial Datejust watches feature a sunburst dial which is dark blue but shines light a diamond when the sun hits it. These pieces tend to sell for around €5.500 for a vintage 1601 with a blue dial, up to €13.000 or more for the 41mm Datejust in a new or pre-owned state.

Blue on other Rolex watches

The blue isn’t just dark blue when it comes to dial colors on the Rolex watches. The well-known ‘Tiffany’ colored Oyster Perpetual is light blue and is highly coveted amongst enthusiasts.

You can also opt for a lighter blue dial on the Rolex Day-Date and Daytona, which is the platinum watch with an ice-blue dial. These light blue dials are really popular on all Rolex watches, so expect to pay a bit more compared to the darker blue watches.
