Unlike the previous matte black dials adorned with uniquely styled markers, the 16550 offered a design more akin to the GMT series, in black, white, and the enchanting cream. There's debate among enthusiasts, some believe a specific production run yielded cream dials, while others think these dials acquired their distinctive coloring due to a paint defect.
