The Rolex Explorer II 16570 Polar with a TRITIUM dial is an absolute classic and one of the most desirable five-digit references. In recent years, the neo-vintage era — five-digit and earlier Rolex models — has become my personal favorite, and this watch perfectly illustrates why. It is understated, extremely comfortable, and looks fantastic on the wrist.

The tritium dial is what gives this example its unique charm. SWISS-T<25 dials were produced until around 1999, and finding one today in such excellent condition is becoming increasingly rare. The natural, gentle patina creates a look and character that simply cannot be recreated in modern luminova dials.

no guarantee card,
full service performed in 2022 with an invoice included — and importantly, the dial and hands were not replaced, preserving the full originality and collector value of the watch.

The case appears unpolished in my opinion — sharp edges remain intact and the lugs retain their strong, well-defined bevels. The clasp still has its protective sticker, and the caseback retains the factory sticker as well. Finding an Explorer II Tritium in such preserved condition on the secondary market is incredibly difficult.

Pieces like this almost never appear anymore — and when they do, they sell immediately. It is a perfect choice for a collector, or for anyone looking to enter the neo-vintage Rolex world through one of its most iconic references.
