A 1675 featuring the UAE Quraysh crest in pristine condition, serviced by Rolex. In the 1970s, the UAE government ordered special editions of the GMT-Master 1675, featuring custom-made dials (by Rolex!) with the national coat of arms and the words “Ministry of Defence” in Arabic, next to the crest. The national emblem of the UAE, known as the "Quraysh Hawk," is prominently displayed on the black matte dial, just above the 6 o’clock hour marker. The hawk or falcon, holds deep cultural significance in Emirati society, as falconry—the practice of using a hawk or falcon to hunt prey in the desert—is a vital aspect of their heritage. On the bird's chest is a red circle depicting a dhow, the traditional sailboat of the region, and beneath the hawk’s talons, "United Arab Emirates" is written in Arabic on a red banner. And what a dial this one is! The hour markers and hands have developed a deep yellow patina—simply stunning. The case is in excellent condition, and it comes with a folded Oyster bracelet, reference 7836, featuring end links marked 282 and a clasp stamped 1/71. The blue-backed inlay showcases rich blue and red tones—a lovely combination. The watch was serviced by Rolex in Geneva in 2019, and the paperwork for the service is included as well.
