Mission to Moonshine Gold – Swatch x Omega

What is Moonshine Gold?

To understand what Swatch and Omega are planning, they’ve put online a teaser saying that the Moonshine Gold will be released. Whatever that may be. Moonshine Gold is a precious material from Omega that was created in 2019, but what is Swatch going to do with this material? Since the ‘regular’ bioceramic MoonSwatch watches only cost €279, you can’t expect a MoonSwatch costing a couple of thousands. Right? We aren’t sure what Omega and Swatch are releasing on the 7th of March, but it might even be a hype again.

The hype was real in 2022

When the MoonSwatch was released, people were going crazy about these affordable luxury watches, made in Switzerland. It probably was the biggest hype in 2022 when it comes to watches. There is a difference though, since the MoonSwatch has a plastic-feel to it, especially compared to the Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. 

In fact, you can’t even compare these models since the quality and durability is completely different. Since it’s a bit easier now to get your hands on a MoonSwatch at the local store, it might need a new push into the hype, just like last year. And that might be the reason why Omega and Swatch partnered up again to recreate a special edition.

What will it be?

We just have to wait a bit and see, what’s going to happen. We’re excited, that’s for sure. And we always love a good talk and hype about watches, just like the MoonSwatch Mission to Moonshine Gold. Just wait and see, we’re ready.
