Vacheron Constantin Watches

The best money can buy is probably the collection from Vacheron Constantin, with a long strechting history for over 250 years. It’s in fact the oldest continuously operating watch manufacturer in the luxury watch market, with models like the Patrimony, Fiftysix and Overseas. These models can be compared to the watches from Patek and Audemars.

The history of the company

One of the big three from Switzerland, which is Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin. The Swiss manufacturer is known for the high-quality timepieces starting with pocket watches and later on starting to produce wristwatches. The founder of the Swiss company is Jean-Marc Vacheron with a workshop in 1755.

His grandson brought François Constantin on board in 1819, when the Vacheron Constantin company started. Today, the company belongs to the Richemont Group. With a specialization in creating custom-made watches, these unique pieces are the philosophy behind every watch: striving for perfection and the desire to create the most exquisite and high-quality watches around.

Models in the Vacheron Constantin collection

When you’re planning on getting your hands on a Vacheron, there are many options available in different sizes, materials used and complications like a moon phase, tourbillon and a minute repeater. Starting with the Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Self-Winding, bearing reference number 600E/000A-B442, this is one of the most affordable watches in the catalog from the Swiss manufacturer, made of stainless-steel and priced at around €12.000.

The Patrimony collection from Vacheron Constantin is known for their ultra-flat movement, made of platinum with the ultra-thin 1400 manual wound caliber. This piece will set you back at least €23.000, depending on the state of the watch. One of the most popular watches in the collection is the Overseas, starting at around €15.000 for a regular Quartz-powered stainless-steel piece, up to €120.000 for the tourbillon.

Since Vacheron Constantin is known for their exquisite timepieces with complications, the most complicated watch is the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Grandes Complications, which features a rose gold case, a perpetual calendar, tourbillon, minute repeater, power reserve indicator and some serious cash to spend around €800.000.

When you’re in the market for a Vacheron Constantin, you can opt for a vintage piece, a pre-owned Vacheron or a brand-new one, which isn’t likely to buy at your local authorized dealer, since it’s pretty hard to get by. Expect to pay a large premium on different models from the Swiss manufacturer Vacheron Constantin.
