Vintage & for every occasion

Vintage Rolex Datejust

The Rolex Datejust is by far one of the most popular models in the collection from Rolex. Since the first drop of Datejusts in 1945, it has been available since today. With lots of different dial colors, bracelets, bezels and materials it is a classic and fine dress watch. For all the vintage lovers out there: there are so many cool vintage Rolex Datejusts available on Wristler.

Plenty of Choice

Different Vintage Datejust styles

When you’re in the market for a vintage Rolex Datejust, there is plenty of choice. You can search for a well maintained 1601 Datejust with plexiglass, fluted white gold bezel and a silver dial with Jubilee, or you can either pick a really nice Rolex Oysterquartz reference 17013/17014 from the 1970s. There are two types of bracelets: Oyster or Jubilee. And both suit the vintage Rolex Datejust very well.

Regarding those dial colors: there are so many cool versions out there from the vintage Rolex Datejust collection. Just take a look at the tapestry dial, linen dial or pied de poule dial. You can’t really configure your new Rolex Datejust like the old days.

Over 30 years

What is a vintage Rolex Datejust?

Nowadays it seems to be popular to call everything old ‘vintage’. But that’s not the case with these beautiful vintage Rolex Datejusts. When the watch is 30 years or older, you might call them vintage. But it’s important that the watch tells a story.

Some people like their watches being brand new: they polish it every two years so there are no scratches or stories left. And we like these vintage Rolex watches to tell you a story: please find them on Wristler.

Which one to pick

Vintage or new Rolex Datejust?

There are some differences between the vintage Rolex watches and the newer Datejusts. But one thing that they all have in common is the in-house caliber with automatic movement, even since the launch back in 1945. Before 1945 the Cyclops display wasn’t added to the Rolex Datejust, called the Oyster back in the days.

Rolex used to call their two-tone vintage Rolex Datejust a ‘Rolesor’, and right now they still do. You can still buy a new Rolesor (two-tone) watch from you local authorized dealer if you’re lucky.

Pricing of the Vintage pieces

These vintage Rolex Datejusts can me affordable. Well-maintained pieces from the 1970s or 80s can be found around €5000 on Wristler. Earlier models from the 40s are a bit more expensive: prices close to €7000. If you get your hands on one of those early gold Rolex Datejusts you might have to pay close to €20.000.
