The Rolex Datejust Turn-O-Graph
Rolex released their first ever tool watch in 1953 which was the Rolex Datejust Turn-O-Graph, bearing reference number 6202. This watch was the first wristwatch with a rotating bezel and was only in production for one year. Some features on these first pieces were ‘Mercedes-hands’, dot indices and a black dial.
About the Rolex Datejust Turn-O-Graph
Rolex integrated the Turn-O-Graph collection in the Datejust models, with the fluted bezel which functions as a diving scale. From that moment on, the dress watch and tool watch was combined. Nowadays you can still find a Datejust Turn-O-Graph with a dark red second hand and a red date display, making the Turn-O-Graph differ from the regular Rolex Datejust.
When it comes to pricing, the watches in the Datejust Turn-O-Graph are pretty affordable compared to other Rolex models. When it comes to the original which was only in production for 12 months, this piece is the most expensive at €33.000, if you’re lucky enough to find one.
When it comes to other 4-digit reference numbers such as the 1625, these pieces sell for roughly €5.500 on Wristler. You can also opt for the 16263 or 16264, made of stainless-steel in 36mm. These watches tend to sell for around €8.000.
Rolex is known for their two-tone watches, such as the ‘Rolesor’ two-tone watches made of stainless-steel and yellow gold. You can also get your hands on the two-tone rose gold version of the Datejust Turn-O-Graph. These watches bear reference numbers 116261 and 116263, costing close or just over €10.000.
