The steel Rolex Datejust 36
Rolex originally released their first ever Datejust in solid yellow gold, with a gold case and bracelet. A couple of years later, Rolex introduced the stainless-steel version of the Datejust, with a steel Oyster-case and two types of bracelets available on the steel Rolex Datejust. The colorways on the dial vary from a clean silver one to a bright green dial which was released a couple of years ago.
Available options
The Rolex Datejust can be found in stainless-steel, which is called the steel Datejust 36. With a 36mm case size and a stainless-steel case, bracelet and bezel (the smooth, polished bezel) this watch is completely made of steel. You can also opt for the fluted bezel on the steel Datejust, which is the 18-karat gold bezel on the steel Datejust 36.
The stainless-steel Rolex Datejust 36 is available on Wristler for around €7.000 for the pre-owned or vintage pieces, depending on the state of the watch. The more modern pieces with a silver, green, blue, grey or black dial are a bit more expensive, starting at €9.000 for the smooth bezel and €11.000 for the fluted 18-karat white gold bezel.
Different dial colors on the steel Datejust 36
When it comes to dial colors, you can get your hands on almost anything you like. The Rolex Datejust 36 in steel comes on a silver dial, a grey dial, black, blue, champagne/gold or the latest release which is the green (motif) dial. These green dial watches are really popular and hard to find, so expect to pay at least €14.000 for a never worn piece with the green dial.
The others are a bit more affordable, starting at €9.000 for the silver dial and €10.500 for the black and grey dial Rolex Datejust 36 watches in stainless-steel.
