Watches and Wonder Geneva 2024: Rolex, Breitling & More Unveiled

With the hype of Watches & Wonders rising again, it is important for us to inform our readers about the biggest thing in the watch community: Watches & Wonders. Read about everything we can tell you about Watches & Wonders, and our expectations of Watches & Wonders 2024 from 13th of April till the 15th of April.

What is Watches & Wonders?

Watches and Wonders the biggest annual event in the Watch industry. The biggest watch brands from all over the world showcase their new and innovative timepieces that will be launched this year. Watches and Wonders was formerly known as the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) and takes place in Geneva Switzerland. Watches and Wonders is a platform for the biggest watch brands where they show the world their new watch releases. In short, it is a big PR moment for the big watch brands to show us, watch enthusiasts, which watches we can drool for the upcoming year.

Which brands are at Watches & Wonders?

There are a great number of well-known watch brands present each year. This year there are a total of 54 participating brands. The most notable are definitely the independents: Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Frederique Constant and many more. All the brands of the Richemont Group are also present. Under the Richemont Group we can see brands as Cartier, IWC, Piaget, Panerai, JLC, Vacheron Constantin etc. There are also some big brands who are unfortunately not present.

The brands that fall under the Swatch Group are unfortunately not present. These are brands like Omega, Tissot, Blancpain, Rado, Breguet etc. Around the same time that Watches and Wonders are, these brands do tend to drop their new releases on their socials. Make sure you keep looking out for these releases as well!

There are also some big watch brands of the LVMH Group that will not be present at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024. These are the brands Hublot, TAG Heuer and Bulgari. One brand falls under the LVMH Group but is present at Watches & Wonders this year. That is the watch brand Zenith. Good to see them acting independently.

Our expectations

From the wide variety of ‘maisons’ that are present at Watches and Wonders this year, there are a lot of different releases we are expacting. Some watches might also disappear out of their catalogues. We expact Rolex to come with some new GMT Master II’s to come join their catalogue. A re-edition of the 16710 GMT ‘Coke’ and probably a re-edition of the 126720VTNR ‘Sprite’. We also think that the Yacht Master II is going to leave us this year, and we also have some Rumours about Rolex their new models.

We expect Breitling to come with a lot of new watches this year as well. A Breitling Premier with a worldtimer function is something that goes around. There are also a lot of questions regarding the new addition to Breitling their empire; Universal Genève. Is there something to expect of UG at this year’s Watches and Wonders? Or is this still one more year away? We know that Universal Genève is not stated as one of the expected brands this year, but Breitling might surprise us!
