Crafted by Omega around 1970, the reference 131.7042 in solid 14k white gold is an uncommon sight—especially in white gold—and offers a compelling combination of heritage, sophistication and subtle rarity. The “Genève” line was introduced by Omega in the late 1950s to mid‑60s as a well‑priced, accurately‑adjusted dress watch offering. Over the years it evolved into a catalogue series encompassing a wide variety of cases, calibres and materials. While not in the same prestige league as the Constellation or De Ville lines, the Genève models remain highly regarded for their clean design and affordability in vintage collecting. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Omega was transitioning through design motifs: slimmer cases, more restrained dials, and the adoption of modern movements.
