Description
Despite all its technological achievements, this Aqua Terra is, from every angle, a purebred Seamaster. We are reminded of this when we see the traditional “Ω” on the dial, the smooth bezel, and the classic hands – all of which make it look very elegant and beautiful.
“The new blue” on the watch's dial was launched at the end of 2023 and is used only in the models that are part of the collection created to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the first Seamaster's launch. The other distinctive feature is the engraved caseback – there we can find Poseidon driving a chariot pulled by two seahorses.
The dial with its teak deck texture offers excellent contrast thanks to the applied hour markers and the intriguingly shaped hands. The date window is positioned in the new location for the series – at “6 o’clock”, the hands are faceted, and the superb effect is finalized with the contrasting accents. One of the things that is almost impossible to show in its full beauty in photos (at least not with our capabilities and skills) are the different dimensions of the dial.
All this splendor can be observed exceptionally well thanks to the slightly domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating – in certain positions, the crystal seems to disappear and you can touch the hands with nothing to stop you. The bezel is smooth, fixed, and seems to provide security and protection to the entire magnificence of the timepiece, and together with the ribbed crown, it solidifies its overall presentation.
The solid caseback does not allow us to enjoy the beautifully decorated Omega movement, which deserves separate attention – the new Co-Axial Calibre 8900, operating at the unusual frequency for other movements of 25,200 vibrations (3.5 Hz), with a power reserve of over 60 hours, 38 jewels, and 202 components. The two barrels, the brand's Nivachoc anti-shock system, and all other technical solutions enable Omega to offer a 5-year warranty for some of its watches with this movement, including this one.
The bracelet is very comfortable due to the clasp with easy-to-use push-buttons, and the fact that it is in the classic three-link design with a central polished link makes the watch's presence even more impressive.
