This time, we are presenting an exceptionally rare collector’s item: a Patek Philippe with the Beta 21 calibre. It is estimated that Patek Philippe produced only about 500 pieces with this movement, spread across the references 3603 and 3587. Historical background The Beta 21 was the result of a visionary development in the early 1960s. At the Centre Electronique Horologer (CEH), renowned brands such as Rolex and Patek Philippe worked together on the future of timekeeping. By the end of the 1960s, only around 6,000 of these Beta 21 movements had been produced. Technically, they were almost identical and differed only in minor details depending on the brand. Details about this particular model This watch captivates with its striking, stepped yellow gold case. The angular edges form a striking contrast to the oval, elliptical dial opening. Dial: The blue dial is in fantastic condition. The white lettering is razor sharp. The Sigma markings at the bottom confirm that the hour markers are made of solid gold. Condition & accessories: The watch comes with the original leather strap and a Patek Philippe yellow gold pin buckle. Our watchmaker has fully checked the movement and fitted it with a new battery. Provenance: A real highlight is the complete history. The watch was first sold in Linz in 1985 and came directly to us via an intermediate stop. The set is complete: it includes the original box and the original certificate with the matching movement number.
