The Annual Calendar from Patek Philippe
One of the big three when it comes to luxury watches is Patek Philippe, and one of the most iconic pieces must be the Annual Calendar. Available in solid gold or even platinum, these pieces are a must for every collector with a slightly larger wallet. The reason you should get your hands on one? Just look at it!
The Patek Annual Calendar
Throughout the years, Patek Philippe started with the Annual Calendar back in the 90s, with the 5035P in platinum. With a black dial, Roman numerals, a date window at 6 o’clock and the month and day in the middle, this is such a stunner. Available on the secondary market for around €27.000 in a pre-owned state, it really isn’t that expensive when you look at the movement, the complications and the materials used by Patek.
A couple of years later, the 5350R in yellow gold made its appearance, with the Moonphase being added to the complications. It’s a bit pricier compared to the platinum version, setting you back around €45.000. The Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph Flyback (bearing reference 5905R) in solid 18k rose gold will set you back close to €70.000, but what a stunner it is! With a blue dial, rose gold case in 42mm it’s a heavy hitter, but surely one to remember.
Dial colors on the Patek Annual Calendar
Patek is known for their amazing deep colored dials, such as the white, silver, grey or blue (motif) dial. One of the latest additions to the Annual Calendar collection from Patek Philippe is the 5905/1A, with the green dial, which looks stunning. On some Annual Calendars you might find the moonphase complication, and can be worn on both a solid gold or platinum bracelet or a leather strap with a fold clasp with the Patek Philippe logo.
A fan of diamonds? A bezel studded with diamonds is also available through Patek, setting you back around €60.000 for the silver or blue dial version worn on a leather strap.
