Piaget watches
Ultimate luxury in the flattest cases available: there is only one option and that is Piaget. Piaget is known for their extremely flat wristwatches with precious materials made of gold, filled with diamonds and complications like a perpetual calendar, tourbillon or minute repeater. Something cool to see nowadays: vintage Piaget watches are getting more and more popular every day.
The history of Piaget
Georges Édouard Piaget opened a small workshop in 1874 in Switzerland, initially focused on producing movement components and high-precision calibers. He worked for some major Swiss brands within years, but in 1920 the company went into another direction when Timothée Piaget took over the company. They started producing their own watches and registered the companies name in 1943 as a trademark.
Today, the company belongs to the Richemont Group, which also owns Cartier, A. Lange & Söhne and IWC. Ever since 2017, Chabi Nouri is the CEO of Piaget and is one of the few women in leadership in the luxury watch market, which is amazing to see.
Popular models from Piaget
When it comes to luxury women’s watches, the Piaget Altiplano is one of a kind. With 69 brilliant-cut diamonds on the 34mm case in white gold, this piece is epic. Piaget has set the list price to be around €90.000, which isn’t cheap. The Piaget Polo S watches are a bit more affordable, starting around €7.000 pre-owned up to €12.500 brand-new for the chronograph.
Vintage Piaget watches are getting more popular on a daily basis, meaning that these watches skyrocket in price as well. A vintage yellow gold Piaget with the Lapiz dial will now set you back at least €6.000, while that used to be around €2.000 a couple of years ago.
