Jaquet-Droz watches

With a long stretching history, Pierre Jaquet-Droz was already into watches in 1738. When he produced a series of longcase clocks, these were so sophisticated and outclassed anything that had yet been produced. With this long history of watchmaking, the Swatch Group acquired the company in 2000. Ever since then, the high-end watches from Jaquet-Droz are something else compared to the rest of the luxury watch market.

Popular models from Jaquet-Droz

In 2002, the Grande Seconde was launched: a piece inspired by the pocket watch created in the 18th century. The dial of this icon was a refined demonstration of the art of Grand Feu enameling, with the hour and minute display at 12 and a seconds counter at 6. Made of precious materials such as rose gold; this is an amazing piece to add to anyone’s collection.

One of the most iconic pieces in the Jaquet-Droz catalog is the Eclipse Annual Calendar, which is made of rose gold and features a dark black dial with 8 stars (a lucky number for Jaquet-Droz). With a triple date moon phase, this piece will set you back roughly €12.000 or more, depending on the year of production. Jaquet-Droz is known for their precise movements and complicated watches, where you can spend up to €100.000 or more on a piece to add to your collection.
