We are proud to offer this exceptionally rare Audemars Piguet Ref. 5237BC from 1974 a highly distinctive white gold dress watch from the brand’s “Classique” collection, featuring a full hobnail guilloché motif across the dial, case, and integrated bracelet.

Crafted from 18k white gold, the 34 mm case houses the iconic Caliber 2003 a record-breaking ultra-thin hand-wound movement developed jointly by Audemars Piguet, LeCoultre, and Vacheron Constantin.

At just 1.64 mm thick, it was the thinnest hand-wound mechanical movement in the world of its time and remained a reference in the industry for decades.

Caliber 2003 has a slow-beating 18,000 vph frequency and compact mainspring barrel. The movement is fitted with 17 jewels and is entirely hand-finished to the high standards expected from AP. Not just a technical feat, it is a poetic expression of mechanical purity refined, discreet, and uncompromising.

The silver dial features a precise hobnail guilloché pattern, which continues into the case structure and is mirrored by the original hand-woven white gold bracelet.

This extraordinary bracelet was produced by Jean-Pierre Ecoffey (JPE), a master goldsmith based in Geneva who supplied intricate high-jewelry bracelets to brands including Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin during the 1960s and 70s.

The entire watch flows as a single sculptural object a wearable piece of art that balances avant-garde aesthetics with technical elegance.

This piece comes with an Extract from the Audemars Piguet Archives, confirming its production date as March 5th, 1974.

It was recently serviced by Audemars Piguet, including a new sapphire crystal, and remains in excellent vintage condition with only the lightest signs of wear.
