The Tank Normale
The Cartier Tank is one of the coolest looking watches ever made, with the distinctive design and sharp rectangular case. This time, Cartier released the Cartier Tank Normale with a more square case compared to the ‘regular’ Tank. The new Tank Normale comes in a 32.6 x 25.7 x 6.86mm case, made of 18-karat yellow gold or 950 platinum. The gold version of the Tank Normale features the sapphire cabochon, while the platinum piece dons a ruby crown. These ‘base’ models with a leather strap will cost you at least €33.000, while the platinum watch is sold for €37.400. Cartier is limiting these models to 200 pieces, and expect a large premium to be paid when these watches are available on the grey market.
Cartier also released the Tank Normale Skeleton, with a skeletonized dial (which looks incredible) and you can opt for the yellow gold piece, 950 platinum or the platinum piece filled with diamonds on the bezel. Starting at €115.000, these aren’t cheap. The cheapest skeletonized Tank Normale will set you back €76.500, while the most expensive one with diamonds costs over €110.000, when you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one: only 20 pieces will be made.
