The TAG Heuer’s and Rolexes we see Max Verstappen wearing

Max and his Monaco

Max has basically remained down-to-earth. You don't see him walking around with a Richard Mille, as you do with the Ferrari or McLaren team. Not surprising, by the way, with such a sponsor. Max and Redbull are sponsored by TAG Heuer. And that means that Max can regularly be spotted with such a watch on his wrist. The most famous is of course the Tag Heuer Monaco, a square watch with a black leather strap. Luckily for us, this watch is not as expensive as a Richard Mille. I have found TAG Heuer Monaco watches from anything between €3.000 to €7.000 for the rarer models.

2024 in gold: Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph

The 2024 formula 1 season has brought us lots of changes. One of these is the TAG Heuer on Max's wrist. At the beginning of the 2024 season we saw Max appear with a very appealing gold watch on his wrist. This time it was not square, but round. If you are familiar with the TAG Heuer catalogue, then you know this has to be a Carrera. In this case, it is a pretty special Carrera! It is an 18k Yellow Gold TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph with a gold/champagne striped dial with black contrasting subdials. The striped linen pattern on the dial really catches your eye, beautiful piece!

What Else: There’s more than his TAG Heuer Monaco

We know that Max wears a number of other watches as well. Not on and around the circuit, but during holidays or in his spare time. Max has already been spotted wearing a yellow gold Rolex Daytona with an Oysterflex bracelet. Such a rubber band. An elegant combination, yet sporty. In our opinion, it fits perfectly with the sportsman. 

Furthermore, Max was recently spotted with another Rolex: the platinum Daytona with ref. 126506. Theice blue dial is recognizable from afar. This watch is beautiful. Not too loud, but still noticeable. Pricing wise, it is hard for me to write about this specific watch. Max was able to get his watches from an Authorized Dealer. The retail price of this watch is €79.200. Grey market prices are even higher! This watch can be found for something around the €100.000 mark.

Father Jos Verstappen his watches

And father Jos? Jos is also a lover of watches, it seems. Like most famous people he has already been spotted wearing a Rolex Datejust with jubilee, fluted bezel and a blue dial. It also seems that Jos Verstappen wears a GMT-Master II when it suits him. A sporty but dressy watch, which does not stand out too much in the pit box of his son.

In general, it's nice to see famous people with nice watches. And certainly in F1 you often see beautiful watches coming back: from simpler models to very exclusive watches: everything comes along. And that has of course partly to do with the sponsorship deals, as with Ferrari. The team that might make a wonderful start this season, is sponsored by Richard Mille. And so you see Carlos Sainz and Charles LeClerc walking around with Richard Mille watches. Big bulky and chunky ceramic timepieces, especially dedicated to motorsports. Would you wear that?
