Important updates in the IWC Collection

At the Watches & Wonders in Geneva IWC has updated some of their most iconic pieces in their collection, such as the Portugieser. They’ve added new dials, cases and some new cool features. Read on to find out all about the W&W 2024 updates for IWC!

New dial colors

The IWC Portugieser is one of the most iconic pieces in the IWC collection, and now they’ve updated their catalog with new dial colors. Firstly, they’ve changed the bezels on the watches so that the dial looks a bit bigger, and the sunburst dials are finished with 15 layers of transparent lacquer which is quite amazing. Some of those new dial colors include Horizon Blue, Obsidian and Dune (our personal favorite to be honest).

Iconic since 1930s

If you take a good look at the Portugiese collection from IWC, it remains true to their origin from back in the 1930, so they’ve created something pretty unique. Every generation of the IWC Portugieser model is basically the same, and that’s something good. The Portugieser 42 Automatic now features the twin-barrel 4Hz caliber 52011 instead of the 52010 and has an improved escapement to offer better protection against magnetic fields. And still, the 7-days power reserve stays the same. They even madethe case 1.1mm thinner, which really is a good thing on these classy IWC watches.

Smaller Portugieser

With the newly updated collection at IWC, they’ve changed the 40mm Portugieser as well, with a white gold case and a bright blue (Horizon Blue) dial which looks perfect. There’s a red gold version as well with an Obsidian black dial and it looks stealthy and chique at the same time. Both
these watches will sell for around €20.000 at your local dealer. Our absolute favorite from this year’s update at IWC is the white gold 40mm version, which is the perfectly balanced piece if you ask us.
