F1 Rookies 2025 and their spectacular watches

The 2025 Formula 1 season is already buzzing with excitement, and not just because of the battles we’re expecting on the track. Four new rookies: Jack Doohan, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Isack Hadjar, and Gabriel Bortoleto are making their debut this year, bringing fresh energy to the grid.

But it’s not just their racing skills that have everyone talking; their choice of watches is just as fascinating. From bold designs to intricate craftsmanship, the timepieces worn by these rookies are turning heads and setting trends. Could their watch choices reflect their personalities or even hint at the success they’ll bring to their teams? Let’s dive into the style, brands, and stories behind the watches of these future stars of F1.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli: Mercedes’ Rising Star and IWC’s Precision Ambassador

Where some drivers had to switch teams to get onto the F1 grid, Antonelli has been racing for Mercedes racing teams since 2019, when he joined former Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Driver Nico Rosberg’s karting team. In 2024 he managed to officially sign for the Mercedes F1 racing team as test driver. When the F1 2025 season came around and Lewis Hamilton was known to set sail to Scuderria Ferrari, Toto offered Antonelli the seat next to George Russel.

Their very own IWC

Signing with Mercedes-AMG Petronas probably came with many benefits, and having IWC as watch sponsor is definitely one of them. Antonelli therefore has been spotted wearing many different watches, all from the International Watch Company. The brand has developed a watch specifically for the F1 team. Antonelli has been seen wearing the IWC Pilot Mercedes-AMG Petronas most of the time when surrounding the track.

Top Gun Ceramic on the Wrist

Another watch that the Mercedes F1 drivers can be seen wearing often are the IWC Pilot Chronograph Top Gun watches. These come in many different materials and with different complications. Antonelli has been rocking the 41mm Pilot Chronograph in Black Ceramic. Pretty cool watch for a F1 driver if you ask me! Pricing wise, these chronograph watches can be found for €8.000 and upwards, depending on if its new or pre-owned.

Jack Doohan: Alpine’s Ace with Bell & Ross and H. Moser & Cie on His Wrist

The Australian Jack Doohan started his single-seater career at the age of 15, back then driving in Red Bull designed F4 cars. After a few F3 seasons, while signing for the Alpine Academy, he managed to get into an F2 seat with the British Virtuosi Racing team, which is now known as Invicta Racing.

In 2023 Doohan was announced as reserve driver for Alpine, and when august 2024 came around Alpine announced Doohan to be the 2025 replacement of former Alpine driver, Esteban Ocon. A young driver, but does he have any good taste when talking about watches? Let’s find out.

As the the name of the former Virtuosi team: Invicta Racing suggest, he is possibly familiar with having a watch sponsor like he has with Alpine. He has been in the Alpine program for a few years already, so he has been the lucky one to have been wearing the watches of the former sponsor, Bell & Ross, but aswell the ones of the current one, H. Moser & Cie. As a watchlover, I could tell you that Alpine definitely is going the right direction with this transfer.

Alpine with Bell & Ross

Let’s start with Bell & Ross. They designed a watch specifically for Alpines racing drivers: the BR-03 A522 Alpine. Bell & Ross watches are known for their square aviation based designs. This specific piece houses the colorways of the Alpine racing team and is recognizable by the Alpine ‘A’ in the seconds hand. It’s a decent looking watch, with a quirky design. You might like it, or you don’t, but horoligically speaking, these ceramic timepieces are pretty well designed for their pricepoint, going for somewhere between the €3.000 and €4.000 mark.

The Successor H. Moser & Cie

Then the current sponsor of Alpine: H. Moser & Cie. They came with the Streamliner series in 2020 and decided quickly that it’s here to stay. When Alpine signed with H. Moser & Cie the streamliner was the obvious choice. This watch comes in many different configurations and complications. The watch we see Doohan wearing is the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph in a colorway they themselves call ‘Funky Blue’, with a racing minute track in the outer ring of the dial. While this watch sets you back €45.000+, his teammate is wearing an even heftier watch; The Streamliner Tourbuillon Skeleton, with a pricetag of €70.000+! Pretty good taste if you ask me.

Isack Hadjar: Racing Bulls’ Prodigy Sporting TAG Heuer and Tudor Elegance

The French-Algerian driver Asack Hadjer is Racing Bulls’ new driver for the 2025 season. He joined the Red Bull Junior Team since 2022 and will be filling former Liam Lawsons seat. Being only 20 years old and having spent more then half of your life racing competitively is pretty impressive. Hadjar is a promising rookie with hopefully many points to come the upcoming F1 season, but what are the watches we have seen him wearing? Whe have not seen many pictures of him wearing watches, but there are a few. Let’s find out what they are!

Red Bulls Long lasting partner Tag Heuer

When talking about racing, red-bull and watches, only one brand comes to mind: Tag Heuer. Tag Heuer has a long lasting history in the motorsport. Tag Heuer was the first to come with accurate lap-tracking dashboard stopwatches, and has since then been the official timekeeper of many different Grand Prix. The watch we have seen Hadjar wearing is the very much fitting Tag Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph. It’s a watch on a rubber strap that has a sporty and rigid look, and therefore the perfect watch to wear at the track! The pricepoint is pretty interesting aswell. You can find a Tag Heuer Formula 1 for less than €2.000.

VCARB partnered with Tudor

The Racing Bulls where formerly known as VCARB. The year they wore that name, was also the year that Tudor decided to join the Formula One again. They had already been partnered with other Red Bull teams, like the ‘Alinghi Red Bull Racing’ sailing team. That partnership had a designated watch connected to it. Luckily for us, the same goes for the VCARB Tudor partnership. The watch we have seen Hadjar wearing is the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic Blue. A durable and rigid ceramic case and a bright blue dial, following the VCARB and Racing Bulls colorway. The price of these Ceramic Blue Black Bays are somewhere around the €5.000 mark.

Gabriel Bortoleto: Kick Sauber’s Star Rookie with Invicta Racing

Gabriel Bortoleto is for many a new name coming to table. He has been racing for the same team as Doohan has; Virtuosi Racing, which is now known as Invicta racing. Unfortunately for is, this means that we have only seen Bortoleto wearing Invicta watches.

Invicta bringing a ‘homage’ to the table

The watch brand Invicta is very much so homage orientated. They have been selling almost exact copies of Rolex Submariners, and Tag Heuer Monacos. When looking at this specific picture, we first tought that it was a Richard Mille he was rocking on his wrist. This actually was not a RM, but a heavily RM inspired Invicta JM Racing 46638. It does have a very ‘in your face’ and sporty design, but I personally can’t really appreciate the way Invicta is going with their watches. What do you think?

The Final Lap: F1 Rookies and Their Timepieces

The 2025 Formula 1 season not only introduces a fresh lineup of talented rookies but also a fascinating glimpse into their unique sense of style through their wristwear. From Antonelli’s precision-driven IWC collection to Doohan’s mix of quirky Bell & Ross designs and high-end H. Moser & Cie craftsmanship, these drivers are making statements both on and off the track. Hadjar brings sporty flair with TAG Heuer and Tudor, while Bortoleto stirs up debate with his bold Invicta homage.

Each rookie's choice of watch seems to mirror their racing persona: sleek, daring, and ready to make an impact. Whether you’re a fan of fine horology or just love the thrill of Formula 1, this year’s rookies and their timepieces promise to keep you hooked. The question is: which of these young talents will turn their wrist game into winning moments on the track? Only time will tell!
