The Black Bay
One of the most popular and successful watches in the Tudor collection is the Tudor Black Bay. With numerous designs, materials used and different functions, the Tudor Black Bay is a watch for every enthusiast. With in-house movements, a well-known design with an Oyster-case and affordable prices you can get your hands on a beautiful Tudor Black Bay.
All you need to know about the Tudor Black Bay
Tudor was founded by Hans Wilsdorf, the same founder as Rolex, to make luxury watches available for a wider public with lower prices compared to Rolex. Tudor used the Oyster-case and bracelet from Rolex with ETA movements to make it an entry-level luxury watch, available for more people.
The Swiss company Tudor introduced the Tudor Black Bay back in 2012, with a vintage look inspired by the Tudor Submariner. Ever since 2016, Tudor features their Black Bay watches with in-house movements with a 70-hour power reserve and a COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) certificate.
Different models
Tudor released numerous models based on the Black Bay, such as the Black Bay Chrono, introduced in 2017. It has the COSC certification and a three-day power reserve. The Black Bay Bronze and the two-tone Black Bay S&G in stainless-steel and yellow gold are highly coveted by enthusiasts. One year later, Tudor released the Black Bay GMT with a strong resemblance to the Rolex GMT-Master.
You could also opt for the smaller version which was called the Black Bay Fifty-Eight (58). With numerous other watches like the Black Bay 32, 36 and 41 referring to their case size, there are plenty of watches to choose, depending on your wrist and the size you would like to wear.
Prices on the Tudor Black Bay
When you’re in the market for a Tudor Black Bay, you don’t need to spend that much money compared to Rolex watches. You can already own a Tudor Black Bay for around €4.000 for the Black Bay GMT or Black Bay S&G. The cheapest Tudor Black Bay available on Wristler is the 32mm case size, perfectly made for women or for the smaller wrist, costing around €2.500 for a well-maintained version.
The bigger 36mm Black Bay is a bit more expensive at €3.600. The most expensive Tudor Black Bay is the reference 79220B with an ETA caliber, which is one of the earlier models from 2012 to 2016. These watches cost you around €4.300 on Wristler for a full set, which will be well-maintained.
