Tudor Black Bay Chrono
While the Black Bay collection from Tudor is meant for diving, you can also opt for a diving chronograph since 2017 with the release of the Black Bay Chrono from the Swiss manufacturer. There are some options when it comes to used materials and dials, and even a limited edition in a black PVD coating. Starting at roughly €3.700, the Tudor Black Bay Chrono is one of the best and affordable diving chronographs around.
Different materials on the Black Bay Chrono
Starting with the Black Bay Chrono reference M79350-005, this stainless-steel piece features a 41mm case, water-resistance up to 200m and an in-house caliber based on the Breitling B01 movement. You can opt for a leather strap, a stainless-steel bracelet or a two-tone steel and gold bracelet, hence the name Tudor Black Bay Chrono S&G (which stands for steel and gold). Starting at around €3.700 for the steel piece with a leather strap, this is the cheapest one around to change hands.
The dial comes in three different options, starting with the white and black dial with two sub-dials in black, with the date at 6 o’clock and a black bezel. The reversed timepiece, which features a black dial and two white sub-dials looks a bit more stealthy. When you’re about to spend some money on a two-tone Tudor Black Bay Chrono, the S&G bearing reference number 79363N comes on a black dial, two sub-dials in gold and a two-tone bracelet. The two-tone piece is the most expensive around €5.500 and up, depending on the year of production and the state of the watch.
