Rolex Submariner No Date
The absolute classic is the Rolex Submariner No Date. Introduced in 1954, the design is nowadays still very modern while the design hasn’t changed that much over time. The earlier models with a four-digit reference number are highly sought-after by collectors and keep rising in price. It makes the Submariner No Date the perfect investment.
The Submariner No Date
The legendary diving watch debuted in 1954 with the reference 6204 and was the perfect tool watch for divers. Rolex only produced the Submariner without a date display until 1966, with the Submariner Date being released with its Cyclops lens. The Submariner No Date is the OG: made of stainless-steel with a black dial and black bezel.
First, the bezel was made of aluminum, while the new Submariner No Date has a ceramic black bezel. The early models were water-resistant up to 100 meters, but nowadays you can find yourself a new Submariner No Date with water-resistance up to 300 meters.
The 2020 Submariner No Date
Back in 2020, Rolex updated their collection of Rolex Submariners with the 124060. With some small adjustments being made to the original design, it still looks like the vintage or classic Submariner No Date. With the Oyster-case the diameter grew from 40 to 41mm and the new 2020 Submariner No Date features narrower lugs, for a slimmer look.
The new in-house caliber 3230 was introduced in this watch as well, with a 70-hour power reserve compared to the 48-hour reserve from the previous 3135 caliber. Prices of these 2020 Rolex Submariner No Dates vary from €12.000 to €15.000 on Wristler.
Vintage Rolex Submariner No Date
With a lot of watches from Rolex, the four-digit reference numbers are the most popular. Just like the vintage or pre-owned Rolex Submariner No Date. The 6538 or 5513 are a bit more expensive: these watches played a minor role in James Bond movies.
With the Submariner No Date COMEX reference 5514 has written COMEX on the dial and a sunken helium escape valve at 9 o’clock. These watches are prices around €50.000, if you’re lucky enough to find one.
