Description
De Rolex Submariner werd in 1953 geïntroduceerd en is uitgegroeid tot ongetwijfeld een van meest iconische duikhorloges ter wereld. Ontworpen voor professionele duikers, stond en staat het model bekend om zijn waterdichtheid, robuuste bouw en tijdloze ontwerp.
In 1955 bracht het merk een nieuwe itteratie op markt met 6536 als referentie. Deze kort en weinig (circa 5000 stuks) geproduceerde Submariner heeft een kleinere kroon en een smallere kast dan zijn voorgangers. Daarnaast is het horloge uitgevoerd met het verbeterde kaliber 1030.
De Rolex 6536 is een referentie waarin verschillende varianten bestaan. De wijzers, wijzerplaat en de kasten tonen verschillen binnen deze referentie. Wat bij allemaal gelijk is, is de 6 mm grote (kleine) kroon.
Betreft de kasten zijn er verschillende referentie aanduidingen. Leuk feitje: een aantal 6536's zijn uitgevoerd in de kast van een 6538. Rolex heeft 6538 doorgekrast om hierinder de juiste referentie te graveren. Bij dit model staat de referentie tussen de kastpoten en daarboven "BREVET +"
De wijzerplaat van het horloge is in zeer goede staat, echter wel gerelumed. Het radium is vervangen voor tritium op de wijzerplaat en wijzers. De wijzers komen overeen met de iets latere productierun van dez referentie: een short neck uurwijzer en een kleinere lume plot op de seconde wijzer.
Deze Rolex 6536 heeft niet meer zijn originele stalen band. Het horloge wordt geleverd met een naar onze mening bijpassende rode lederen band. Er zitten geen toebehoren bij. De kast verkeerd eveneens in nette staat.
De zeer fraai verkleurde bezel is een zogenaamde "kissing four" bezel. Bezels waarvan de vier en de nul elkaar net wel of net niet raken worden zo genoemd.
