Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Purple Cortina is an exceptionally rare version of Breitling’s iconic pilot’s chronograph. Only 50 examples were created in collaboration with Cortina Watch.
The dial is undoubtedly the main attraction. Yes, it is purple. And in person, it is genuinely spectacular.
Breitling describes the finish as Purple satiné translucide. The colour has remarkable depth and changes dramatically depending on the light. Therefore, the watch can look completely different from one angle to another.
The dial also features elegant 5N red-gold accents. These include the hands, hour markers and Breitling logo. As a result, the warm details contrast beautifully with the purple background.
The stainless-steel case measures 43 mm in diameter and 13.69 mm in thickness. Meanwhile, the signature bidirectional bezel retains the functional aviation slide rule.
Inside beats the manufacture Breitling Calibre 01. This automatic chronograph provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Moreover, it features a column wheel, vertical clutch and COSC chronometer certification.
The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and uses 47 jewels. In addition, it can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback.
The caseback also confirms the exclusivity of this edition. It is engraved with “One of 50” and “Limited Edition”. Therefore, its extremely small production run is immediately apparent.
The watch comes on its original stainless-steel bracelet. In addition, the set includes an original brown Drakkar calfskin strap with its original buckle.
For me, the dial is what makes this Navitimer truly special. The classic design remains instantly recognisable. At the same time, the purple colour completely transforms its personality.
This example dates from 2025.
It comes complete with all original Breitling boxes and documents.
Manufacturer warranty is valid until 2030.
