Bound by sturdy calfskin straps, this 'avenger' flexes its muscles like Thor or Hulk from the eponymous blockbuster hit – few are the timepieces that so successfully combine rugged appeal, impressive dimensions, and raw elegance. Many and varied timepieces have passed through our hands – some have been larger than this one, and with others their creators have tried to make them more provocative and noticeable, but few of them so successfully combine rugged appeal, impressive dimensions, and raw elegance. Indeed, this watch looks much more imposing than, for example, a Bentley Motors T – even though the Bentley is larger – not to mention which of the two timepieces draws more attention. In this contest, the Super Avenger is the clear winner. It is not for nothing that this model has been the best-selling Breitling of the last 25 years – when we learned this information, we initially couldn't believe it, but it is indeed true. We have a special affinity for this particular model from a beloved brand and, if you have followed our other listings, you will know we quite often compare the watches offered in them specifically to this one.
Through the sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating, the black dial with silver subdials is visible. The hours are marked with double markers coated with Super-LumiNova – this dial combination is, in our opinion, the most classic and preferred by fans of the brand. The overall impression this timepiece creates is very classy – only black and silver, with a few red accents: the tip of the chronograph's seconds hand, the "Automatic" inscription above the 6 o'clock subdial, and the three tachymetric segments on the 12 o'clock subdial. It simply needs no other embellishments!
The 300 m water resistance, the COSC-certified chronograph, and the massive Professional III bracelet only reinforce the overall impression of this instrument. Holding it in your hands or even just contemplating it, one understands very well why Breitling chose this very slogan for their timepieces: "INSTRUMENTS FOR PROFESSIONALS".
Another positive factor contributing to the interest in this watch is the countless personalization options it provides. Besides this great bracelet, the watch looks unique with all colors of original leather and rubber straps, as well as with all sorts of design ideas for non-original ones – almost as much as a Panerai.
