We are pleased to present to your attention a representative of one of the newest, model-diverse, and opinion-polarizing brands – Romain Jerome. Since its founding less than 20 years ago, the brand has strived to offer striking models, some of which carry not only the innovative spirit of their designers, but also particles from the models' namesakes – such as Moon Dust, Titanic DNA, EYJAFJALLAJOKULL, and many others. Most feature unusual designs, short limited series, and a striking presence.
The model presented is part of one of the brand's most iconic lines, namely the “Romain Jerome Moon Dust DNA”.
The case of the watch is designed specifically for this series and is in honor of the epochal journey of Apollo XI in 1969. And the connection to this journey, which culminated in the successful landing on the lunar surface, is evident throughout.
The dial is produced using moon dust and itself depicts lunar craters, the seconds hand is in the shape of the lunar module's antennas, metal from Apollo XI is used in the case, and to top it all off, the case back features the famous footprint left on the lunar surface by Armstrong. The model itself has a certificate from the ASE – Association of Space Explorers and is produced in a limited series of just 1969 pieces (another reference to the year of the flight).
The strap is very soft and comfortable, yet at the same time very secure; the buckle is a deployant clasp.
At the heart of the watch beats the RJ Caliber RJ 2901 automatic movement by Concepto, operating at 4Hz with a 48-hour power reserve and 57 jewels.
