De benaming Big Bang verwijst naar de oerknal: het moment waarop de voor ons bekende materie ontstond. In 2005 simuleerde Hublot dit moment op hun eigen manier met de introductie van de Big Bang collectie: een horloge dat veel verschillende materialen samenbracht en het merk nieuw leven inblies.
Dit horloge bestaat bijvoorbeeld uit een stalen middenkast met rubberen zijkanten, een keramische bezel en titanium schroeven. Een duidelijk voorbeeld van de filosofie van Hublot: The Art of Fusion. Deze ‘oerknal’ betekende voor Hublot het begin van een geheel nieuwe merkidentiteit. Het merk kreeg wereldwijde bekendheid en bleef sindsdien experimenteren met materiaalcombinaties en uitgesproken ontwerpen.
Het hier aangeboden exemplaar stamt uit 2011 en verkeert in nette, gedragen staat. Het horloge wordt geleverd met doos en papieren; wel laat het leerachtige materiaal van de doos op enkele plekken los.
