Why you should consider buying a pre-owned watch

We know, it’s pretty satisfying when you peel off the stickers of your brand-new watch. Especially if you have saved a lot for it. We want to inform you about the pre-owned and vintage watches. It’s exciting, got a better story to tell and a little more risky. And we like a bit of risk.

Plenty choice of pre-owned timepieces

For sure, the shiny new watch in the box is a great feeling. But in some cases, you should consider buying a pre-owned or pre-loved watch. Or even vintage. If you’re up for it, of course. A lot of enthusiasts already consider buying their selves a birth-year-watch. Some sort of grail, an achievement, and such a good story to tell to friends and family when it comes to your watch-collection. When you’re in the market for a pre-owned watch, you can look out for different models, types, and styles. Depending on the budget, there’s plenty to get your hands on.

Value for money

When it comes to value, you can get great value for money when it comes to used or pre-owned watches, since they’ve declined in price already since a few years. Another thing is the availability: it’s way easier to get your hands on a pre-owned or vintage watch instead of a brand-new watch. Another thing that might come in handy: when you change your mind about your watch, you will probably get your money back when you resell your pre-owned watch. For sure, you might even make money when reselling a brand-new piece, but that’s not in all cases.

It tells you a story

The thing we like the most about pre-owned and vintage watches, is the story. It’s not brand-new, so it’s worn, had some rough times and you might even see that in the patina on the dial or some scratches on the metal. Which is perfectly fine if you ask us. The story behind the watch can sometimes be the reason why you should consider buying one.

Circular economy

Other than the fact that you can buy really cool vintage or pre-owned piece which are discontinued, you’re also doing a good job for our planet earth, environment and reducing waste. Buying second-hand, pre-owned pieces is always a good idea. Want to read more about doing a good job for our planet?

Can it be risky to buy a pre-owned watch?

Why is buying a pre-loved watch risky? Well, you can expect to see some damage on the watch if it’s unpolished. Or the previous owner(s) didn’t service the watch, but still, it’s a piece of art on your wrist, with a beautiful story to tell. Not just a timekeeping-piece, but an achievement. Make sure to always buy the seller when you’re on the lookout for another watch, and you’re good to go. Also for scratches and dents we got you covered!

Enjoy the process folks!
