Top 5 Wedding Watches for Men Under €5.000

Alright, let’s totally skip the part of wearing a watch shouldn’t be allowed on your own wedding, because this day might last forever. But we’re watch lovers, so we can’t really help ourselves: we need something on the wrist. Period. Even on your wedding. So, we’ve got you a nice little sum-up for the best wedding watches under €5.000. You’re welcome!

Why you shouldn’t wear a watch

Well, that’s a strange title for the first part of this article, while we just said we’re skipping the whole discussion on wearing a watch to your own wedding. But, to clarify, we get it. This day should be magical and should last forever, so time isn’t a thing on this particular day. If you decide to wear a watch, it’s all fine, but there’s one exception which we won’t let go of: if you’re all dressed up in a nice tuxedo, a wrist-watch is a no go. Pick a nice solid gold pocket watch, preferably with Breguet numerals and a clean white or silver dial, and you’ll be all set.

Why you actually should wear a watch

Here we go: you’ve decided to wear a wristwatch. Even on this day, you’ve already had some headaches while discussing with your friends, family and fellow watch nerds, and thus compromised: you’re doing what you do best, and that’s picking a watch for the special day. You’ve set yourself a budget of €5.000, and you want to wear the watch on your wedding, but should also be wearable afterwards. What’s the best pick out there? We got you. We’ve spend hours on our platform, looking through 30.000 watches and we’ve come to a conclusion: there’s too much to choose from. Which is a good thing, but makes the quest a bit harder. Anyway, enjoy our top 5 of best wedding watches for men!

What’s a wedding watch?

First of all, when picking a wedding watch, it should contain a leather strap, preferably a gold case (which is hard for this budget, but we’ll give it a try) and could have some complications, but in my personal opinion, you should keep it clean. A wedding watch is a dress watch, so it should be comfortable, calm, and maybe even some warm colors. So, let’s dive into the world of fine watches available.

First pick: GS

Yes, Grand Seiko is always a good idea. To be honest, I had one which I sold, and still regret it. So, I’m on the hunt for a new replacement Grand Seiko in my collection. To pick the perfect dress watch from GS within the budget, I think the Grand Seiko Elegance Collection (ref SBGR261) would be a favorable one. A beige dial, 40mm case, worn on a leather strap and perfectly balanced. I mean, just look at it: isn’t she lovely? This piece will set you back €3725, so it’s available within budget. Top tip: at the GS boutique, this piece costs €5000, so still within budget, but if you can save a few bucks shopping on Wristler, it’s an even better idea.

Keep it complicated

One of my personal favorite complications is a triple date (moonphase) watch. And especially the vintage ones, since these feature smaller cases compared to the modern watches, so this one would be my pick. Available within the budget, with a Valjoux 72, this Heuer Triple Date would be perfect. 35mm, wears like a charm for the smaller wrists and is so cool. I mean, the blue numerals, the complication, and a gold/steel (gold-plated) case is simply lovely for your perfect day.

Solid gold crown

Nope, not just the crown is solid gold, but the case as well. And that’s another thing that’s part of a wedding watch: a solid gold case would be the preferred option. And, we’ve found a solid gold Rolex watch which is perfect for your wedding. At least, that’s my opinion. I love the Cellini, and this features a solid gold case, manual wound movement, Roman numerals and a black dial. Available for €4.000, this is a steal, especially when looking at the current price of gold reaching all time highs.

A banger of a watch

You might not think that this is about a Longines, but it is. This steel Longines Heritage Moonphase will set you back €2700 including shipping, and features a clean silver dial, a complicated movement including a moon-phase, date and time. And thus, an awesome choice. 38.5mm case, so perfect for a dress-watch. Again, this Longines is more affordable on Wristler compared to your boutique, which costs €3500 at the boutique. Nice little discount secured!

You must need a Cartier

We can’t skip this top-5 of ours without mentioning Cartier in it. So, here goes nothing: a gold-plated silver Cartier Tank, a black dial, black strap and in perfect condition. No second hand, so the watch is lots cleaner compared to others. Available for just over €3200, this could be your go-to wedding watch. Rectangular case, a Cartier, and you’ve got some budget left. What’s not to like?

The verdict

So, we’ve got you on several options, but as we mentioned already: it’s pretty hard to pick the right one. Especially for the big day, so we can imagine that it is one of the hardest quests out there when looking for your dressy wedding watch. Need some help? Just pick up the phone, send us a text, or send us an e-mail and we’ll be more than happy to guide you for this special day. Enjoy!
