Timo’s picks for under €10.000

When working in an online candy shop like we do, we dream away with the new stock listed every hour on our platform. And since we start to look at some more data, we see that most transactions on our platform are sub €10.000. So, it’s time for a new challenge: my favorite watches under 10k. And to make life easier: I’d probably never spend that much on just one watch, but it’s time to challenge myself and make some decisions.

If you’re new to our platform and don’t know me yet: I’m Timo and I’m a total vintage watch lover. So, as expected, I’m searching for the best pre-owned and vintage watches for under 10k. I will pick some watches that will total the maximum budget, but I will also challenge myself for 1 watch in this range. Since it’s a lot of money, and there’s so much to choose from, this is going to be interesting.

The one watch collection

Alright, I’m all settled, getting ready for that one-watch-collection. I’ve got an imaginary budget of 10k to spend, and I’m into pre-owned and vintage pieces. What’s it going to be? I’ve always had a sweet spot for the Day-Date from Rolex, and you can get your hands on a leather strapped Day-Date for this amount. Such as this amazing Ghost Dial:

Another option would be the discontinued white dial Milgauss, and I really have no clue why I would pick this, but I just like it. And it’s different. Maybe that’s the thing. A perfect all-day watch, might even be better than the Day-Date to wear on a daily basis.

Furthermore, it’s no secret that I’m a big Tudor fan. And I always dream of owning the Tudor Sub, so this Submariner from Tudor would be a good pick for a one watch collection. Don’t you think?

More watches is more fun

Since 10k is a lot of money to spend, it’s a dream budget. And, I would probably pick more watches within this budget to start a collection. And, I would get my hands on a diver, a dress-watch and something unique. All that for under 10k? Yes, I’m sure it’s possible. The diver that I will get is this one: the blue 36mm Seamaster 300m, with the blue bezel.

I think this is great value for money, 36mm is my sweet-spot on the wrist and I think this might be the best fit. So, I’ve spend €3250 on this one, leaving me with €6.750 for two more watches. It’s getting close, right? But, I will manage this challenge. The second piece I’m getting is unexpected, and it’s this Ebel 1911 Chrono. 18k gold, leather strap, beautiful dial. Damn, this is a cool piece!

So, I just spend another great amount on this Ebel, leaving me with €1970,-. And I got a little surprise for you, and even have €20,- left in my wallet after the last purchase, which is going to be this vintage Tudor. Just look at that dial, Rolex signed bracelet and case (and price!):

So, I’ve spent 10k on three amazingly cool watches: a diver, a chrono in solid gold and a timeless vintage piece, which is the 34mm Tudor. I think we’ve got quit the collection with these three pieces, right?
