The All New 2025 Seamaster Planet Ocean from Omega

One of the longest running collections in the Seamaster catalog from Omega is the Planet Ocean. The model debuted back in 1948, but it’s mostly the 1957 version of the Seamaster 300 that really stood out. There are so many sub-versions on the Seamaster that it feels like we’re lost, but we’re only diving into the world of the Planet Ocean for now. Enjoy!

The history of the Seamaster Planet Ocean

The flagship of the Seamaster collection is the Planet Ocean 600M, due to its water-resistance at 600M. Of course, the Ploprof goes even deeper, but that really isn’t the best watch to wear on a daily basis. If your wrist allows a slightly bigger diver, the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M is. Omega launched the first PO back in 2005 with the orange bezel, black dial and the helium escape valve. The second generation launched in 2011 which is the most common version. And now, there’s the all-new Planet Ocean. Something you haven’t seen before from Omega with some drastic design changes.

The newest addition to the family

Just in time for its 20th anniversary, the new Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean brings lots of new features to the watch. For starters, the design is completely different compared to other Seamasters in their catalog, giving the PO its own identity. The divisive helium escape valve is gone, the case is now a C-shape case but still remains the 600M water-resistance. The newest addition to the family measures 42mm and 13.8mm thick, which means a 2.3mm decrease from the past generation (which is pretty awesome if you ask me). That means, with the new and angular case, the watch wears much more comfortable compared to the older versions. You’d have to love the design, but for comfort, it's a big win.

Steel with titanium

The watch is mostly made out of steel, but features a solid titanium screwed caseback. It’s sharper and totally different compared to any other watch in the Omega catalog. The bezel also changed a bit, and is available in black, blue and orange which is the signature look for the Planet Ocean 600m. Another new update is the bracelet, which now matches the design. A flat 3-link bracelet with brushed outer links and polished center links, it looks way better and fits the case perfectly.

Pricing on the new Planet Ocean

While the pre-owned versions of the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean will set you back around €3.000 up to €5.000, the newest version will set you back around €6.700 retail. Of course, these Omega watches will be available on Wristler soon with a nice 10 to 25% discount, still being brand-new and full set. Keep an eye out!
