The Rolex Day-Date 36
When the Rolex Day-Date was introduced back in 1956, it measured 36mm. Since then, the model is still in production in this size, calling it the Rolex Day-Date 36. Since the original Rolex Day-Date was 36mm, the newer models in 36mm are popular amongst collectors because of the perfect mid-size watch, to wear on every wrist.
Materials on the 36mm Day-Date
With the original Rolex Day-Date produced in yellow gold with a yellow gold fluted bezel, yellow gold case and bracelet (president-bracelet with a folded hidden clasp), this is the most popular in the Day-Date collection.
Nowadays you can also opt for the platinum, white gold or rose gold Day-Date 36, with numerous options regarding the dial color.
You can get your hands on a green dial, blue dial, ice-blue dial, black, silver, champagne or even a dial filled with diamonds on the hour markers. These watches tend to sell for around €25.000 for a pre-owned or new Rolex Day-Date in white gold or yellow gold with the basic silver or champagne dial, while the others in rose gold or platinum easily sell for double that money.
