These models came in various sizes and case materials.This ref. 6014BA features an 18k yellow-gold case, measuring 32.5 x 35.5 mm, with ‘hinges’ on the side, as well as an 18k yellow gold octagonal bezel that is surrounded by factory-set brilliant cut diamonds. The case attaches to Gerald Genta’s famous integrated Royal Oak bracelet, also executed in 18k yellow gold. Each link on the bracelet contains a horizontal groove that is factory-set with diamonds as well. The champagne dial features factory-set small diamond indices and an 18k yellow-gold applied AP logo at the 12 o’clock position.The watch runs on a unique Audemars Piguet quartz movement with an ingenious mechanism to set the time. The minute hand can be adjusted by pressing down on a hidden button in the centre of the crown. When the button is engaged, the minute hand sweeps forward until the button is released when the hand reaches the correct position. The hour hand can then be adjusted by pulling out the crown and twisting it to the approximate hour position. When the crown is pushed back in, the hour hand automatically jumps to the accurate position relative to the minute hand. This vintage masterpiece encapsulates the essence of Audemars Piguet’s dedication to watchmaking, making it a sought-after choice for connoisseurs of fine timepieces.
