Description
In the mid 18th century Pierre Jaquet-Droz started making clocks, so-called ´Automatons´ and watches. These mechanical masterpieces were so complicated that when Pierre started showcasing his builds to the common people they suspected him of witchcraft, almost burning him at the stake. Luckily for Pierre and for us this never ended up happening and we got to see the magical creations of this mechanical genius!
The watch we are offering today is a Jaquet Droz Tonneau GMT hommage londres which runs on the special Jaquet 736 unique shape movement. This beautiful movement is placed inside a 34.5mm by 38,5mm stainless steel Tonneau case with a see-through caseback and a pusher to set the GMT function. The dial on this watch has a crisp white color which is combined with gorgeous highly polished breguet numeral hour markers. This watch has a sub-seconds function and a GMT function which are placed at the 8 and 12 o’clock position. This watch has no luminous material in the hands or at the hour markers which creates a very clean and simple look while being quite a complicated watch. The overall condition of this watch is excellent, with no signs of polishing and very minor to no marks on the case. This watch has a black strap with an original Jaquet Droz clasp and also comes with its original wooden box and papers.
