Description

In het jaar 1956 bracht Rolex de Day-Date uit. Het was het eerste mechanische horloge welke zowel een datum als volledig geschreven dag functie had.

De Rolex Day-Date is, in tegenstelling tot de Datejust welke overeenkomstige ontwerpkenmerken hebben, enkel verkrijgbaar in edelmetalen. Daar waar de Jubilee band icoon is voor de Datejust is de President band dit voor de Day-Date. De naam President's watch dankt het horloge aan vele (wereld)leiders die hun smaak lieten vallen op de Rolex Day-Date.

Het hier aangeboden model is een vroeg model van de vorige generatie Day-Date. De 118239 onderscheid zich van zijn voorganger door verschillende kenmerken. Waaronder de massieve band, gepolijste kastpoten en een vernieuwd uurwerk.

De Day-Date is afkomstig uit 2000 en is later voorzien van een andere wijzerplaat. De dieprode 'Cherry' wijzerplaat. Naar onze mening de mooiste wijzerplaat voor deze referentie.
Belangrijk om te weten is dat het horloge is voorzien van een aftermarket saffierglas en er no-lume wijzers gemonteerd zijn.

Het horloge verkeert in zeer nette staat. Het uurwerk is recent voorzien van een onderhoudsbeurt.
