De Rolex Datejust 16200 is geproduceerd van ongeveer 1988 tot 2004. Deze referentie is voorzien van een gladde (domed) bezel in plaats van de bekende fluted bezel van 18K witgoud. Dit geeft de Datejust 16200 een iets meer ingetogen en sportieve uitstraling. De Datejust 16200 is vaak geleverd met een Oyster-band in plaats van de sierlijke Jubilee-band. Daarnaast is deze referentie verkrijgbaar met verschillende wijzerplaatvarianten, waaronder diverse kleuren en uitvoeringen met streepindexen, Romeinse cijfers, Arabische cijfers of diamanten. De Rolex Datejust 16200 is een veelzijdig model dat perfect geschikt is voor dagelijks gebruik!
De Rolex Datejust 16200 die we hier voor ons hebben, is voorzien van een zilveren tritium wijzerplaat met Roman minute track rondom. De periode correcte zilveren wijzerplaat vertoont een lichte, egale beige patina, wat kenmerkend is voor dit type wijzerplaat en zorgt voor een warme uitstraling. Hier worden we natuurlijk weer blij van! We mogen natuurlijk de 36 mm kast niet vergeten, die nog vlijmscherp is en zelfs nog ongepolijst lijkt! De periode correcte, sportieve 78360 Oyster-band met U-claspcode vertoont een acceptabele rek voor zijn leeftijd, maar is nog steeds in goede conditie.
