Description
An elegant and highly collectible Cartier Santos Octagon Ref. 0906 from the 1980s, presented in stainless steel and featuring the rare grey “Ghost” dial with desirable “Swiss”-only signature. Combined with its automatic movement and compact PM proportions, this is a particularly attractive vintage Santos configuration. The stainless steel case measures 25 mm and remains in great condition. Its distinctive octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet capture the unmistakable aesthetic of 1980s Cartier, while the bracelet measures approximately 16.5 cm, offering a generous length for this PM reference. The highlight is undoubtedly the original grey Ghost dial, signed simply “Swiss” at 6 o’clock. The dial has developed attractive natural patina over the years, including a minor spot near the centre, giving the watch authentic vintage character while preserving the distinctive gunmetal-grey appearance collectors appreciate in these early Ghost dials. Steel hands, Cartier’s signature blue sapphire cabochon crown and a spotless sapphire crystal complete the monochromatic look. Inside beats the Cartier Calibre 076 automatic movement, freshly serviced and running excellent.
