This Patek Philippe “Hour Glass” Ref. 2456 was introduced in 1949 and features a dramatic, ergonomic silhouette defined by its distinctive concave and convex case sides. Measuring 40 mm (including the lugs) by 21 mm, the case offers a bold, avant-garde architectural design with a presence that remains striking even by today's standards. Adding to its charm is the engraved case back, bearing the initials “H.R.K.” — a personal touch that lends the watch an extra layer of history and character. The silvered dial is finely brushed and features a delicate black enamel Patek Philippe signature. Applied arrow-shaped hour markers, a beautifully proportioned small-seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock, and elegant sword-shaped hands complete the harmonious design. The watch is fitted with the pictured leather strap and a period-correct 18k gold pin buckle. Powering the watch is the iconic hand-wound Calibre 9-90, one of the most elegant in-house movements produced by Patek Philippe during the golden age of watchmaking. The movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
