Description
The model presented today is a representative of the newest Diver series from Omega, but unlike the "regular" Diver, first launched at Baselworld in 2018, this one aims to be a more special version. It bears several distinctive features, all of which make it truly unique. First, the case is made of titanium. Second, the sapphire is domed and reminiscent of the acrylic crystals of the past. Third, the model has no date. And fourth, the dial is made of Bronze Gold – a special patented alloy of the brand, composed of 50% gold, 37.5% bronze, and other elements, officially designated as 9-karat gold – and aluminum, featuring an aged design. In fact, the model is based on the "Bond Omega" launched in 2020, created in honor of the 25th film about the Crown's agent, released under the name No Time to Die.
As we have already mentioned, the model is offered in the same case, with the same materials, but refined with Bronze Gold, with a new look thanks to the materials and the green color, with a new green dial, again made of aluminum, with the same bracelet – a titanium Milanese – and with the same crystal. However, we would also like to draw your attention to the case back, because, as you might guess, it is also different – in this case, it is transparent.
The back, unlike the standard "Bond" model, is transparent, made again of titanium and sapphire, and bears the standard Diver engravings.
Beneath the case back lies the no less wonderful movement of this unique model – the new Omega Co-Axial calibre 8806, operating at a frequency unusual for other movements of 25,200 vibrations (3.5 Hz), with a power reserve of over 55 hours, 35 jewels, and 199 components. The two barrels, the brand's Nivachoc anti-shock system, and all other technical solutions allow Omega to offer a 5-year warranty for some of its watches with this movement, including this one.
The differences compared to the previous Omega 8500 Co-Axial movement are several, but the most significant is that it is now a Master Chronometer – it has passed the METAS certification, which imposes much stricter criteria. And this particular model is the first not only from Omega, but the first mass-produced timepiece in general, to have passed this certification. You must agree, this is worthy of all our respect.
