Breitling's Montbrillant series is named after the building on Ruelle Montbrillant in La Chaux-de-Fonds, which housed the brand's workshops from 1889 to 1979, and the goal is clear – to pay a well-deserved tribute to the brand's birthplace. For this purpose, the manufacturer manages to combine tradition and innovation in an impressive way, a balance that is enhanced by the complex dial and the multitude of functions the watch offers.
Today, we have the pleasure of presenting to your attention a timepiece in which the manufacturer has combined not only the over 70-year history of one of the most successful series in the watchmaking industry – the Navitimer – but also a vision, size, and style that were modern for its time.
The Montbrillant Olympus series was launched in 2006 and is one of the shortest-produced, as it remained in the production line for only about two years. It is this fact, combined with the complex and multifunctional dial, that makes the model highly sought-after among fans of the Navitimer line.
The watch has one of the largest sizes for the series at that time (only the Navitimer World models were larger). Despite this, the 43 millimeters in no way make it uncomfortable or overly obtrusive – on the contrary, it sits perfectly on the wrist, offers good legibility, and impressive build quality.
Unlike most representatives of the Navitimer series, this model offers a truly rich set of functions. Its four sub-dials combine indications for time, date, day of the week, a 4-year calendar, moon phase, chronograph, and a leap year indicator. It is undoubtedly a complex and extremely attractive instrument, which in its blue version is relatively rare and therefore even more desirable.
The offered piece comes with a blue leather strap with a deployant clasp and is offered as a full set, which further increases its attractiveness for both collectors and connoisseurs of the brand.
