When the first Rolex Datejust was introduced in 1945 – the year of Rolex's 40th anniversary – it made history as the first automatic water-resistant certified chronometer with a date on the dial. The "Cyclops" was added in 1955 to magnify the date display two and a half times, becoming one of the brand's most recognizable features. In 2009, Rolex introduced the modern version of the Datejust 36 – a line that preserves the DNA of the original but adapts it to contemporary requirements. One of the most significant differences is the movement – caliber 3136, an in-house development with Paraflex shock protection, a Parachrom hairspring, a COSC-certified chronometer with a 48-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations. It is not in vain that the Datejust is the brand's most popular and recognizable model after the Submariner – and the Datejust 36 allows this popularity to be presented in a more compact and exceptionally elegant contemporary interpretation. This particular timepiece is in a very interesting and relatively hard-to-find combination – a pink dial with gold stick markers, rose gold, and an Oyster bracelet. The detail on this model is impressive. A closer look reveals jewel-like craftsmanship, and the overall presence is strongly aristocratic. The soft pink-toned dial lends warmth and elegance, while the gold markers create excellent contrast and legibility. The classic sapphire with the "Cyclops" is of the highest grade and contributes to the timepiece's slimmer profile. The case and bezel are crafted from a combination of brushed 904L steel and 18-carat rose gold – a characteristic approach for the brand that ensures both durability and a luxurious appearance. The fluted bezel, crafted from gold, further emphasizes the model's prestigious character. And of course, the bracelet – the Oyster bracelet has a solid construction and a massive clasp, milled from a solid block of steel. Although it lacks the Glidelock system, the EasyLink is present here, allowing for quick micro-adjustment in a range of 5 to 20 mm. This particular bracelet has 10 links and is suitable for a wrist up to approximately 18 cm. The combination of the pink dial, gold elements, and Oyster bracelet gives this Datejust 36 an exceptionally balanced and elegant presence – a timepiece that combines classic style, luxury, and everyday practicality.
