The Rolex Datejust (Ref. 16013) is the epitome of luxury and craftsmanship from the 1980s. This specific model, delivered on December 24, 1987, is crafted in the timeless combination of stainless steel and 18k yellow gold. The champagne dial features a beautiful 'sunburst' finish, elegantly reflecting the light. The addition of Roman numerals on the outer minute track gives this watch a refined, almost royal appearance.
Inside the 36 mm case lies the high-quality Rolex Caliber 3035. This movement was revolutionary for its time as it introduced the "Quickset" function, allowing you to adjust the date independently of the time — an essential convenience for the modern wearer. Despite the mechanical advancements, this model retains the vintage charm of high-quality plexiglass, which provides that characteristic warm glow on the dial.
This is one of the later examples of the 16013 series, before the 16233 took over. The watch is in excellent condition, and the Jubilee bracelet shows minimal stretch for its age.
