When the first Rolex Datejust was introduced in 1945 – the year of Rolex's 40th anniversary – it made history as the first automatic waterproof certified chronometer with a date on the dial. The "Cyclops" was added in 1955 to magnify the date display two and a half times, making it more legible and becoming one of the brand's most recognizable features.

In 2018, Rolex introduced the new generation Datejust 36. This line offers the features of the original iconic model in a more modern design, while also incorporating a number of innovations. One of the most significant differences is the movement – the Datejust 36 uses the caliber 3235 with an increased power reserve of approximately 70 hours and a significantly improved automatic winding system, in which the rotor is on a ball bearing, and efficiency is increased by about 15%. The reversing wheels are Teflon-coated, which reduces friction. The caliber includes 14 patents, over 90% new components, and offers accuracy exceeding COSC standards.

It is in this model that Rolex experiments with various dials and designs – in this case, the distinctive green guilloché with a palm leaf motif ("Green Palm Motif dial"), executed in several shades of green. The model was introduced in 2021 and was produced for a short period of about three years. This, along with the traditionally special significance of the color green for Rolex, places it among the models with unofficial nicknames – in this case, the "Jungle Datejust" – and makes it highly sought-after.

It is no coincidence that the Datejust remains the brand's most recognizable model after the Submariner – and the 36 mm version presents this classic in a contemporary and balanced size. This particular watch is in a very attractive and hard-to-find configuration – a green dial with a palm motif, a fluted white gold bezel, and a Jubilee bracelet.

The detail on this model is of an exceptionally high level. The precise craftsmanship is revealed upon closer inspection, and the overall aura is elegant and aristocratic. The dial impresses with its texture and play of light. The sapphire crystal with the "cyclops" is of the highest grade and contributes to the lower overall height of the watch compared to previous generations.

The case and bezel are an excellent combination of brushed 904L steel and solid 18-karat white gold. The characteristic fluted bezel provides a strong presence and distinguishes this model from the smooth bezel variants.

The Jubilee bracelet also deserves attention – it is equipped with a solid clasp, crafted from a single block of steel, not from bent sheet metal. It features the EasyLink system, which allows for micro-adjustment in a range of 5 to 20 mm for added comfort. This particular bracelet has 10 links and is suitable for a wrist up to approximately 18 cm.
