The history of Omega begins in 1848, when Louis Brandt started hand-assembling pocket watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The Omega name itself appeared later – in 1894, when his sons created the eponymous calibre that laid the foundation for the modern brand. Today, Omega is among the leading names in watchmaking, with headquarters in Biel/Bienne and a clearly expressed focus on the precision and testing of every component.
Within the Seamaster collection, the presented model is part of the Diver 300M line – perhaps the most recognizable contemporary Seamaster. In this form, the series appeared in 2013 and quickly established itself as a successor to the brand's underwater traditions.
The dial is typical for the model – lacquered in blue, with a distinct depth and a very well-balanced composition. The subdials are recessed and clearly defined, and the metal rings around them, along with the applied logo, create a sense of multi-layeredness and a play of light that is difficult to capture in a photograph. The date is positioned at 6 o'clock, and the skeletonized hands with SuperLuminova ensure excellent legibility.
The movement is Calibre 3330 – based on the Valgranges A08.L01 (7750 architecture), but with Omega's co-axial upgrade and an Si14 silicon balance spring. It is a COSC-certified chronometer with a power reserve of over 50 hours, which combines the proven reliability of the classic base with the brand's modern technologies. The Co-Axial system reduces friction and allows for longer service intervals and more stable accuracy over time.
The construction is entirely in the spirit of a professional diver – screw-down case back, screw-down crown and pushers, a unidirectional bezel, and water resistance of 300 m. All of this is not just "on paper," but real functionality.
The bracelet is typical for Omega – very well executed, with a combination of brushed and polished elements and a comfortable push-button clasp. It sits securely on the wrist and complements the feeling of solidity and quality.
Overall, this is one of those timepieces that combine instrumentality and luxury in a very natural way – something that Omega does exceptionally well.
