And so… today we have the pleasure of presenting to you a—let's call it the "Tudor Kermit," because among the brand's enthusiasts, it is known precisely by this nickname.
The model was launched in 2017 and aims to commemorate the long-standing partnership between two icons—each in its own field—Tudor and Harrods. We will not elaborate on what Harrods is, but we will note that some of the most famous brands have boutiques there—and we are not just referring to watches. The model presented today can be purchased exclusively at the Tudor boutique in Harrods and, as you might guess, the interest and corresponding waiting list resemble those for the steel sports models from Rolex.
It has the same design cues as its "big brother" Kermit—a black dial and a green aluminum bezel. Along with this, it carries the distinctive features typical of the Heritage Black Bay series—snowflake hands, a dial with a gilt chapter ring, a slightly domed crystal, a lack of crown guards, a large winding crown with the rose logo, beveled case edges, and last but not least—the characteristic riveted steel bracelet.
Of course, the model also has its specific characteristics that distinguish it from the standard Heritage Black Bay: a green bezel (more precisely, olive green), a green tip on the seconds hand, and green text for the water resistance rating. Another interesting detail is that here the feet are listed first, followed by the meters—this pays homage to Great Britain, where the imperial system is still officially used, unlike the metric system in most of the world.
The case back is numbered (in keeping with Tudor's military heritage) and features special Harrods engravings. The green accents in the design pay homage to the characteristic green color of Harrods. The watch creates a much more harmonious presence compared to its "big brother" Kermit and, frankly, we like it significantly more—not least because of the absence of a date, which not only makes the overall design more balanced but also strengthens the connection to the Submariner.
At its heart beats the brand's in-house MT5602 movement, with a 70-hour power reserve and operating at 28,800 vibrations—well-proven and relatively affordable to maintain.
